San Antonio highway construction project

Highway infrastructure in Texas is quite impressive. The common phrase, "Everything's bigger in Texas," definitely applies here. The absence of freezing weather makes the construction of soaring ramps possible, these spaghetti pools of roads crisscrossing into a giant sky.

In San Antonio, home of the second largest network of state highways in the U.S., they're doing everything possible to enlarge the already overwhelming transportation infrastructure. There is something mesmerizing about the concrete structures. Their design is purely utilitarian, but their aesthetic is both beautiful and alienating.

Me likey!
